As many of you know (because I won't stop talking about it), I'm currently studying for my licensing exam in family medicine. It's a big one guys - 105 topics ranging from pain management to heart disease to everything there ever was to know about preventive care.
My son is now 2, and I learned a valuable lesson when I started studying - I can't study while he's awake and my husband's not home. Mostly because I get interrupted approximately once every 6 seconds.
I've decided that I need to study when I have time to myself, and be as present as possible when I have family time.
However, this means that I'm trying to fit family time, full-time work, weekly call shifts, 10-minute home workouts, and studying into my schedule. Plus cooking and cleaning and walking the dogs.
It's a lot.
So, I'm cutting way back.
While I'm a proponent of balance in life, I think that balance means working really hard in some seasons and easing off in others. I have a discreet period of two more months where I want to focus on studying, and then I can get back to writing and other hobbies that are on the back burner.
All of this to say that I look forward to posting again in May.
Stay well friends,
Dr. Kuhnow
